Taco Seasoning

Have you been avoiding Taco Bell and their mystery meat in an effort to eat healthier?  Having taco nights at home with your family instead?   That’s a good start, but even the packages of taco seasoning you get at the store contain some stuff that you need the chemistry background of Walter White to recognize. There is no need for us to consume all of those fillers and unhealthy ingredients that they put in there. Instead try making your own taco seasoning mix instead.  I eat more taco meat than any one human should consume, so I had to find an alternative to the store bought stuff.  Here is how I make my taco seasoning.

INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp. chili powder
1.5 tbsp. cumin
1.5 tbsp. paprika
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 tbsp. garlic powder
.5 tbsp. sea salt
2 tsp. oregano
.5 tsp. red pepper flakes

DIRECTIONS
You can add or subtract to the mix based on your tastes. I normally use about a tablespoon of the mix per pound of ground beef when I’m making tacos.  If you have other mixes that you like, I’d love to hear them.  Hope you enjoy it!
